At Malthouselane, Level 1 & 2 apartments have access to a private balcony. Ground floor apartments enjoy private decks with a courtyard lawn. Sliding glass doors open up your living areas, so you enjoy an alfresco lifestyle. Enjoy a coffee & morning paper in the sun. Entertain your guests with after work drinks as the evening light falls on nearby hills. If you’re a sun lover, your balcony will provide shelter from any sea breeze and allow you to soak up as much sun as you wish without leaving the privacy of your home.

One of the marvellous things about the Nelson lifestyle is that there’s always a view to enjoy. At Malthouselane, we’ve worked hard to give you some of the best in town. Upper-level apartments benefit from either north or east aspects. These take in the Maitai riverside and beyond to The Haven. Or, over the adjacent neighbourhood (The Wood) towards the city’s eastern hills green belt. Careful placement of floor to ceiling windows and doors, broad overhangs and light shafts ensure the lustre of each living space complements its function, without compromising your privacy.
Walk this way
A bonus of living the Nelson lifestyle is that you have pretty much everything on your doorstep. With proximity to walkways and cycleways, you may find it more convenient to leave your car parked in the garage. If you’re off on a jaunt, there’s no need to take bulky bunches of keys. At Malthouselane, access doors and the internal lift will be card activated. For the occasions you need to venture further afield, you’ll find easy access from the garage onto Malthouse Lane. This, in turn, provides exits via Riverside (exiting onto Halifax Street intersection) or directly onto Collingwood Street.
Inspiration from nature
The Nelson lifestyle embraces nature. So, at Malthouselane we wanted to be sure we took design inspiration from natural elements. Tiled floors and timber panelling will welcome you into the entrance lobby. Exterior finishes will incorporate concrete panels with a clear finish, including sandblasted patterning. Additionally, we’ll use cast vertical timber texture, through-coloured Fibre Cement Cladding and decorative through-coloured Fibre Cement panels.
Explore the region
You’ll find that living the Nelson lifestyle means there’s a lot to explore. To that end, you may need vehicles, bikes and hiking equipment! Each apartment will have a designated carpark and storage locker. If you need a second car parking option, we can provide a proprietary car stacker system on request at additional cost. We want to protect the Nelson lifestyle for future generations. So, we’ve made provision for e-car charging. Each carpark space will be pre-wired with the required supply voltage. If you connect your vehicles charging station to this outlet, it will be metered back to your apartment’s electricity account.
